Established in 1955 as an integral part of the School of Advanced International Studies of the Johns Hopkins University (SAIS), SAIS Europe in Bologna, Italy has been educating global leaders in the area of international affairs for over 70 years. As a highly-selective graduate institution with a distinguished faculty, SAIS consistently ranks as one of the top schools of international relations in the world. SAIS was founded to provide a practical approach to training students in international leadership and foreign relations, and to provide mid-career educational opportunities for those already working in related fields. Today, SAIS Europe hosts around 200 full-time students hailing from 40-50 countries pursuing, inter alia, Master of Arts in International Relations (MAIR), Master of Arts in International Affairs (MAIA), Master of European Public Policy (MEPP), Master of Arts in Global Risk (MAGR), and Doctorate of International Affairs (DIA) degrees, with a diverse, international group of over 60 resident and adjunct faculty. Requirements
Johns Hopkins SAIS Europe is currently recruiting a senior scholar for the James Anderson Professorship in International Economics and Finance, a fully-endowed Chair based in Bologna. Candidates will have a focus in some area in the general field of international economics, including international trade, international finance, financial markets, or corporate finance. The position is intended for a senior scholar with an extensive background in empirical research. Candidates will be expected to have a strong track record of publications with substantial impact; an innovative, eclectic research agenda; and significant teaching experience. Candidates who have extensive practical experience in the above areas could be considered outside the tenure track with a term appointment.
